About Lydia
I have been working with fellow SpLD students since before my own diagnosis 6 years ago, and it was my own work which made me seek diagnosis for myself. I am up to date with all the latest applications, studies, resources and thinking about all their is to know about SpLD. However, I never put my students into a box. No two SpLD students are the same. Everyone needs specific help and guidance to support their unique aims and to fit in with every other pressure going on in life. My own parents used to shout at me and tell me the only way to pass exams was to sit at a desk for 12 hours straight. It never worked and only frustrated me. I myself advocate a drastically different approach that instantly improved my grades and mental health.

I give online support to students with dyslexia and specific learning difficulties. A fellow dyslexic, I was diagnosed at 19, having already finished school and having given up all hope of attending university. However, I spent a year exploring how I, and other dyslexics, learn best. It's a daily (and lifelong) learning process. But I now have both a BSc with Honours and an MSc with Merit, from leading UK institutions. I have tutored my fellow dyslexics, in school, online, through exams, homework, getting to class with the required resources, time management skills, university applications, and coping with the Disabled Students Allowance process to get the resources and physical support each student is entitled to, to best support their personal development.
I also have A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, History and Spanish. Degrees in Accounting and Spanish and Intercultural Communication for Business. I now live in Spain and work for a Big Four Accounting and Financial Services company. I am a keen entrepreneur and operate several businesses as sidelines.
