About STEVE
My musical background goes all the way back to early childhood with a multi-instrument evolution. Trumpet was my first serious instrument in grade school, then I played drums in bands and on a professional level. I took on the piano (my true love) a bit later and entered music conservatory. I studied abroad in The Netherlands at Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
After graduating I became a pro Jazz piano player coming up through the NYC scene performing solo, duo, trio, and in various musical settings. I was always giving lessons privately and at music stores. Gigs and lessons was the life and still is!
Later on I picked up the electric bass, which took me around the world touring with one of my bands for nearly a decade.
Currently in addition to touring the world I am focusing on my piano career as a player and teacher, with many projects in the works.

My style is both laid back and intense as I love music more than anything. Each day I am grateful that it exists in the universe and always excited to share the knowledge with my students.
While I specialize in Jazz piano playing, I teach people all levels and styles. We can deep dive into theory and the inner workings of the magical world of music.
Start from scratch. Take your existing skills to another level. Get your composition and songwriting together. Add something new to your life for enjoyment and accomplishment.
