About Krish
Hi! My name is Krish, I am a Law student at the University of Warwick, and, as nerdy as it sounds, I love maths! Most of my students think maths is boring and repetitive, dreading it when they see it next on their timetable, but I could not disagree more. I have a genuine passion for maths, which shows up in my teaching. I aim not just to teach my students maths, but to help them enjoy it too.
I am very friendly and talkative, so I spend the first 5 minutes of every lesson talking to you about your day or week and how you are. I am very approachable and open-minded, so I absolutely encourage you to talk to me back. Whether it's about how much you hate maths or you just have a question for me, I want to hear it! I want you to feel comfortable in my lessons and see me as a friendly face that you can learn from. Even though I have said I am talkative, I am committed and dedicated and understand that the main goal is to help you. Consistently through my teaching, I persevere when my student is struggling and help them persevere too. I am confident that I can help you achieve your target grades.

My approach to tutoring is completely centred on what my student needs. Whether they learn best by repetition or are a visual learner, I will adapt to what they need. I have taught students with special needs, and so I understand the importance of patience and communication. Whether the student is struggling and needs a confidence boost or even wants to stretch their learning, I am happy to help!
I have tutored for nearly three years, to 11+ and GCSE pupils, and have helped them achieve their dream grades. Typically, I do one-hour lessons a week; however, if my student needs more attention, I can increase the frequency of lessons to address their needs. I structure my lessons around what my pupils need, so they bring the topic they believe they need help with to me. Usually, I go through the content and pepper in practice questions to test their learning. I find the most effective way to teach is to get my students to teach it back to me. This makes sure they are paying attention and also that they understand the content. Making sure my students are engaged is very important to me, so I get them to talk and ask me questions throughout.
I have achieved a grade 9 in GCSE maths, a grade 9 in GCSE further maths, and an A* in A-Level maths, so I know what it takes to get the highest grades, and I can help my students do the same.
