About Sarah
I’m Sarah, a New York University graduate in Computer Science with a long-standing passion for teaching math. I’ve always enjoyed breaking down difficult concepts into simple, intuitive explanations, and over the years I’ve helped students of all ages build real confidence in their math skills. My approach is patient, supportive, and structured. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adjust my methods to meet them where they are. Whether a student is preparing for an exam, catching up in class, or simply trying to strengthen their foundations, I make sure they feel encouraged, understood, and capable. As someone with a strong analytical background and experience mentoring students in both academic and creative environments, I bring clarity and positive energy to every lesson. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but to help them genuinely enjoy problem-solving and feel proud of their progress. If you’re looking for a tutor who is reliable, motivating, and fully invested in your success, I’d love to work with you.

My tutoring approach is grounded in confidence-building and real understanding. I break concepts down into simple steps, use visual explanations when helpful, and adjust my pace based on how the student learns best. I focus on helping students understand why something works, not just how to solve it, so they build long-term math intuition.
A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in to see how comfortable the student is with the topic. Then I work through examples, introduce problem-solving strategies, and guide the student through practice questions. I always end with a short recap and a few take-home tips so they leave feeling confident and supported.
What sets me apart is that I have a Computer Science degree from NYU, experience in data and analytical reasoning, and a strong ability to simplify complex concepts. I’ve mentored students and peers before and I’m patient, encouraging, and great at adapting to different learning styles, including students who struggle with math anxiety.
My lessons are suitable for Pre-K through high school students, including support with homework, exam prep, algebra, geometry, precalculus, and general math foundations. I work especially well with students who need a confidence boost or a more intuitive, friendly way to understand math.
