About Alex
I'm a Newcastle University graduate having graduated in 2019 with a 2:1 Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. I followed this up in 2020 by completing a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering graduating with a top Distinction / 1st class grade.
Throughout my studies, I've tutored students of all ages possessing a wide array of academic ability and experience.
I've even been tutored myself when studying for my own GCSE's!

School learning environments don't always provide the 1:1 assistance that many students may want or require when it comes to subjects such as mathematics. I also understand that tutoring can be quite a daunting prospect for many students and as such, I always aim to provide a positive, friendly and helpful environment in my lessons ensuring that all of my students succeed and reach their full academic potential
Initially, I will always focus on diagnosing the subject areas which a student is struggling with and talking through the student's goals with them.
After this, I will usually draft a plan for future lessons in which we work together to breakdown and simplify the student’s areas of difficulty in a way that is understandable and engaging for them.
Whatever level of maths confidence a student starts with I'm positive that with enough assistance and direction from myself that they’ll be able to achieve the grade they're aiming for.
