About Tom

I am a recent Mathematics with Finance graduate from Newcastle University. I achieved a 2:1 in my degree, alongside a Grade 9 at GCSE and a Grade A at A level. My degree has given me a deep understanding of the subject, with a strong foundation in advanced statistics, as well as modules in both applied and pure mathematics.

During my second year of university, I served as a peer mentor, guiding first-year students through their transition into higher education. This role gave me valuable experience in offering patient, tailored support and academic guidance.

Having studied maths intensively up to degree level, I understand exactly what it takes to excel. I can share my own proven revision techniques, teach you how to break down complex problems step-by-step, and show you how to decode exam mark schemes so you always know exactly how to secure top marks.

About the lesson

I can teach all GCSE or A level maths topics so my lessons can be tailored to your exact needs. I offer highly flexible lesson lengths ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours to suit your schedule. While I primarily teach online, I am also happy to travel up to 10km from Newick for in-person sessions at your home or a quiet public space.

My lessons will be heavily focused on answering practice questions with step-by-step guidance. Working through problems together allows us to identify any knowledge gaps, which I then fill by clearly explaining the underlying concepts.
