About Zoe

I have been tutoring students since I was 17 and completing my final year in high school. I began tutoring family friends children, and my sister friends, and grew to develop a strong group of students I regularly tutored. Those I have tutored range from the young age of 12 up to the age of 18, receiving help during their final HSC year.

My strongest skill as a tutor is introducing structure to my students. By structure I mean both essay and exam technique, as well as mentoring throughout the year. I am a strong believer that organisation is the key to success, and implementing simple steps such as essay and exam practices will help every student achieve their very best. As a tutor, I am able to provide feedback on the work being produce and guide the students to ensure they remain on track and motivated.

About the lesson

Hello! My name is Zoe Knight and I am a recent graduate of a Bachelor of International Relations and I am currently undertaking my Honours at the ANU. Having been raised in many countries around the world - Portugal, China, UAE and Australia - I have a solid understanding of various teaching methods which I believe works to my advantage when tutoring. I completed my HSC at Sydney Secondary College in 2014. During my time at SSC I was head girl and achieved an ATAR of 91.05, I also ranked top 4 in 4/5 of my subjects.

During my time in high school, I benefited greatly from receiving tutoring from my high school teachers outside of class hours. Although I was achieving consistently high marks, I was losing easily earned marks through poor exam technique and essay writing. I learnt a lot and was able to successfully implement my new found knowledge in time for the HSC exams.

I am excited to share my skills and knowledge with those that may be experiencing similar concerns that I had during my time in high school. High school is a tough time for any student, and I believe that only good can come from reaching out and asking for help.

Details

I am happy to accommodate my students in terms of distances that must be travelled. I often prefer to meet students at a local library, or preferably the ANU, where a quiet and studious environment can be ensured.
