About Brogan
My name is Brogan Kealy, and I’m originally from a small rural town in Western Maryland. My passion for science began in eighth grade after watching Cosmos with Neil deGrasse Tyson, which sparked a deep curiosity about the universe and how it works. Since then, I’ve pursued that curiosity relentlessly, graduating as valedictorian of my high school and earning a state championship title in wrestling along the way. I went on to study physics at North Carolina State University, where I gained hands-on research experience in two biophysics laboratories. These opportunities not only strengthened my technical skills but also deepened my interest in applying physics to real-world challenges. I graduated in the spring of 2025 with a B.S. in Physics. Now based in Huntsville, Alabama, I’m seeking opportunities in the private defense sector where I can contribute to meaningful, mission-driven work and continue growing as a systems-oriented thinker and problem-solver.

I take a student-centered approach to teaching math and physics, combining Socratic questioning, active problem solving, and a strong emphasis on conceptual understanding. My goal is to help students not only solve problems but also understand the why behind each step. I often incorporate real-world examples and visualizations to make abstract concepts more tangible and relatable, which helps students build lasting intuition.
A typical one-hour lesson is structured to reinforce understanding while adapting to individual learning styles:
0–5 min: A quick warm-up to review previous material and address any lingering questions.
5–15 min: Explanation or reinforcement of the core concept using visual aids, analogies, or real-life contexts.
15–40 min: Guided problem solving, where we work through examples together, emphasizing reasoning and strategy.
40–50 min: Independent practice, allowing the student to apply concepts while I observe and provide targeted feedback.
50–60 min: A summary of key takeaways and suggested practice problems to reinforce the session’s goals.
This structure is flexible and can be tailored to the specific subject, topic, or the student's preferred pace and learning style.
