Teacher's Biography:

Cameron Stewart-Mathews offers private drum tuition through his business, Drummers Link. This is a private education service with a twist. In addition to the private drum lessons, we also offer regular performance opportunities throughout the year, as well as hosting Drummers Link community events so you can meet other student musicians like yourself!

All private lessons are taught by Cameron from the Drummers Link home studio or online via Zoom or Skype.

Lessons Topics:

- Learn your favourite songs
- Sightreading
- Weekly challenges including drum fills and patterns
- Optionally learn Trinity or Rockschool grades from Debut to Grade 8.
- Record your performances and make videos for Youtube/Instagram/Facebook
- Drum Theory - Beginner to advanced. Learning to read and write music notation.
- Performance preparation, including the shows we will put you forward to play.
- Rudiment studies

Success Story

13-year-old Pete visited a local music store in Northampton to buy a drum kit so he could start learning to play from scratch. While he was there he enquired about drum lessons and was recommended our services. He left the store that day with a new drum kit and a business card with our contact details.

Pete’s dad got in touch straight away to sign up for lessons and we booked him in for a free trial session that same week. In the 30 minute lesson he learnt his first few rock beats and was playing along to some basic backing tracks in no time!

He decided drumming was definitely his thing and several months of weekly lessons passed with Pete’s commitment and passion for the new hobby being a clear accelerator for his learning process. He was comfortably learning new songs every week and within 8 month of lessons we put him forward for a local gig. The band was put together by us and some other local music teachers and we helped Pete prepare not one but THREE songs for his first outing.

He absolutely nailed the performance and will be returning to the stage for more gigs this year!
