About Yvonne

Hi! My name is Yvonne, and I am currently a Year 1 Business undergraduate at NTU. I am passionate about helping students learn in a supportive and encouraging environment, and I believe that every student can improve with the right guidance and approach.

I understand that every child learns differently, so I adapt my teaching methods according to each student's learning pace and needs. I focus on building a strong foundation, developing confidence, and ensuring students genuinely understand concepts rather than relying on memorization.

As a tutor, I am patient, responsible and committed to preparing lessons carefully to help students achieve steady progress. I strive to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and learn without fear of making mistakes.

I teach Chinese and Mathematics for students from Kindergarten to Secondary level, and I aim to make lessons engaging, productive and tailored to each student's goals and abilities.

About the lesson

I am Yvonne, a Year 1 NTU Business undergraduate who is passionate about helping students learn in a comfortable and encouraging environment. I teach Chinese and Mathematics for students from Kindergarten to Secondary level, and I believe that every student learns differently. My approach is to adapt my teaching style according to each student's pace, strengths and areas of improvement.

For Mathematics, I focus on building strong foundations and helping students understand concepts step-by-step rather than simply memorising formulas. I guide students through practice questions, explain common mistakes and teach problem-solving techniques to improve both understanding and confidence.

For Chinese, I focus on improving vocabulary, comprehension, oral communication and writing skills through consistent practice and interactive learning methods. I aim to make lessons engaging so that students feel more comfortable and confident using the language.

A typical lesson is around 1–2 hours, depending on the student's age and needs. Lessons can include concept teaching, guided practice, revision of school work, homework assistance and exam preparation.

Although I am building my tutoring experience, I am patient, approachable and committed to helping students improve steadily. My lessons are suitable for Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary students of different learning abilities, whether they need help strengthening fundamentals, catching up with school work or aiming for better results.
