Hello, I'm Rebecca Maric, a passionate artist and educator specializing in photography, video art, collage, painting, and sculpture. Originally from Westchester, NY, my creative journey is shaped by my family, mentors, and surroundings. I draw inspiration from my hobbies, soccer, gardening, and film, which influence my artistic style and teaching. I hold a degree in Art History from St. Lawrence University and a Master's in Art + Education from NYU. This background helps me connect art's cultural significance with effective, student-centered teaching. I'm committed to creating a supportive space where students feel empowered to explore, take risks, and express themselves creatively.

As a certified middle school art teacher in the East Village, I bring years of experience working with children and a passion for student-centered, creative learning. I hold a Master's in Art Education from NYU and a background in Art History from St. Lawrence University, and I currently assist at the International Center of Photography. In my classes, students choose what they want to learn - whether it's painting, embroidery, printmaking, bookmaking, mosaics, or zine making. I believe in giving kids the freedom to explore their creativity while building real skills. My classroom is a brave, supportive space where every student feels empowered to take risks, express themselves, and learn from one another. With a strong focus on collaboration, self-expression, and community, I help students create meaningful work they're proud of and excited to share with others.
