About Yakov
I am a New York State–certified Spanish teacher (Grades 7–12) with a Master's Degree in Spanish Education and experience teaching both middle and high school students. I am committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel motivated, capable, and prepared to succeed. I help learners build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and develop real communication abilities in Spanish. My instruction is patient, organized, and tailored to each student’s needs.

My tutoring approach is structured, supportive, and focused on helping students build real proficiency in Spanish. I use clear explanations, modeling, guided practice, and frequent checks for understanding to ensure students feel confident and make steady progress.
A typical lesson includes a brief warm‑up, a focused skill or grammar point, guided practice, and an opportunity for students to use the language in speaking or writing. I tailor each session to the student’s level, goals, and learning style, adjusting pacing and support as needed.
What sets me apart is my experience as a certified Spanish teacher (Grades 7–12) with classroom practice at both the middle and high school levels. I understand curriculum expectations, assessment demands, and the challenges students face. I create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and growing their skills.
My lessons are ideal for middle and high school students, including beginners, heritage speakers, and those preparing for assessments or needing extra support with classwork, grammar, writing, or speaking.
