About Garland
Starting out in songwriting and guitar, I quickly realized the path to a finished record often feels like a maze. Working through those 5 years has taught me that the music industry demands clarity instead of confusion. My degree from NYU Steinhardt gave me the tools to refine my craft, yet my real growth happened in the trenches of daily writing.
I have guided 157 students to find their unique artistic signature by keeping things simple. Creating should feel like play rather than a heavy chore.
Breaking complex tasks into small wins is the core of how I function as your coach. Consistency beats intensity every single day. I enjoy seeing that moment when a writer realizes their idea is actually a solid song. Let us get to work on your music.

Turning a loose spark into a polished record is the ultimate goal here. You will learn melody writing and lyric construction by focusing on what makes a song stick.
We move from concept development to building a structure with a verse, chorus, and bridge. Working to a brief helps you sharpen your focus when you feel stuck.
Making memorable choruses is a craft that anyone can sharpen with the right habits. You will gain control over your arrangement to ensure the song lands exactly how you envisioned. I focus on keeping the creative pressure low so the quality stays high. You can expect a supportive space where your ideas are always the main priority.
