About Tammy

As an OCT-certified teacher with 20 years of classroom experience, a Master’s Degree in Education (M.S.Ed.), and Specialist qualifications in Special Education, I offer a unique dual approach: targeted student coaching paired with expert parent advocacy. While traditional tutors focus solely on homework and worksheets, I bridge the gap between home and school. I combine high-impact student support with the insider knowledge parents need to navigate the school system effectively and confidently.

DEDICATED PARENT ADVOCACY & NAVIGATION IEP & Assessment Decoding: I translate complex psychoeducational assessments and Individual Education Plans into clear, actionable, parent-friendly strategies.

School Meeting Preparation: I help you prepare for IPRCs, teacher conferences, and accommodation reviews, equipping you with the right questions, terminology, and strategy to secure the support your child deserves.

Insider Systemic Knowledge: With two decades inside Ontario schools, I know how school teams operate, which accommodations are most effective, and how to foster positive, productive collaboration with school staff.

1-ON-1 STUDENT COACHING (Grades 1–10)

Executive Functioning: Practical systems for organization, time management, task initiation, and focus.

Academic Confidence: Tailored skill-building in reading, writing, and math aligned with their unique learning profile.

Self-Advocacy: Teaching students how to understand their own strengths, use their accommodations, and take ownership of their learning. Whether your child needs direct academic coaching or you need an experienced educational consultant in your corner to navigate the Special Education process, my goal is to eliminate the stress and build a clear path forward for your family.

About the lesson

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A SESSION

Every session is tailored to the individual needs of your student or family:

For Students: We focus on active skill-building, executive functioning systems (time management, organization, task initiation), and boosting academic confidence in reading, writing, and math. I break down complex classroom expectations into manageable steps.

For Parents: We use consultation time to review IEP drafts, analyze school communication, analyze psychoeducational recommendations, and build a strategic advocacy plan for your next school board or teacher meeting.

Format: 100% online via Zoom or Google Meet. All materials and meeting notes are shared directly after each session.

PRICING & SESSION DETAILS

Standard Rate ($50/hr):
Applies to all 1-on-1 student academic/executive functioning coaching (Grades 1–10) as well as parent IEP strategy & consultation sessions.

Complimentary 30-Minute Session:
This initial session is a dedicated Parent & Student Intake Call. We will review your child's learning profile, discuss your primary goals, and outline a tailored action plan before beginning formal coaching.

Payment Methods:
Flexible payment options available (including direct Interac e-Transfer).

Cancellation & Rescheduling:
To accommodate all families on my schedule, please provide at least 24 hours notice for any session cancellations or rescheduling requests.
