About Yina
Used to works at Dulwich College Shanghai. Born into a family of musicians, influenced by my parents at a very young age which began to learn the Pipa (Chinese traditional instrument) at the age of six, and had first piano lessons four years later. I was an active member of school orchestras and regularly performed at events to large audiences.
In 2006 I attended Guizhou Normal University where I completed her Bachelor of Music Degree. Later trained as an ABRSM Theory and Aural teacher at Cristofori Music School in Singapore and worked there for many years. In 2012, earned a full music scholarship for the Guizhou Normal University where I completed my master's graduation concert gaining Master’s Degree in 2015.
I strives for success and attends seminars and classes given by well known teachers such as Mr. Lim Kian Yeong and Ms. Zhou Shilei who both have much experience in teaching ABRSM in Asia. Attended ABRSM teacher conference UK in 2018. Attends classes by many master Pipa players, such as Ms. Zhang Ying, Pipa Supervisor at the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Mr. Chen Yin, Pipa Supervisor at the China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra, Mr. Zhang Qiang and Mr. Jiang Yang from the Central Conservatory of Music. Ms. Zhao Cong, Pipa Supervisor at China Central Chinese Orchestra. I has also gained experience by teaching and performing with many other musicians from around the world.

Having taught pipa over the last decade and ABRSM for over six years, I am a very passionate teacher who is eager to share my knowledge with students of all ages that have an interest in this traditional Chinese instrument or wish to develop their knowledge in music theory.
