About Sameer
I am a Year 12 student at The Kingston Academy, currently studying Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Computer Science. I achieved (concealed information) in my GCSEs, including full marks in GCSE English Literature. I have previous experience tutoring as a Maths Mentor for Year 7 students, helping students build confidence and improve their understanding of mathematical concepts. I will also be continuing this experience by mentoring Year 8 students. My tutoring approach focuses on identifying individual weaknesses, explaining concepts clearly, and building confidence through structured practice and GCSE-style exam questions.

GCSE Maths tutoring focused on identifying and improving individual weaknesses. Lessons will begin with short diagnostic and retrieval questions to identify areas that need attention. I will then clearly explain the relevant topic and method, followed by guided practice and progressively harder questions. We will then apply the skill to GCSE-style exam questions, focusing on problem-solving, method selection, accuracy and understanding mark schemes. Mistakes will be recorded and revisited in future lessons so that weak areas are continuously improved rather than simply moving from topic to topic.
