About Stephanie
I am a postgraduate student studying Security Studies at the University of Glasgow, having just graduated from Oxford University last year with a degree in Experimental Psychology.
I am incredibly enthusiastic about chess, starting at just 7 years of age. I became the British girl's Chess Champion at both the age of 9 and 10, and then became the under-18 Welsh Chess Champion at the age of 12. I still love to play, and love the idea of inspiring others as young as I was to pursue it and get involved in the Chess community as it's truly an incredible experience and a skill that stays with you for life.

My chess lessons will be tailored to any student's current level and abilities, but are aimed at beginners or intermediate level players. A typical chess lesson with me will usually be 1 to 1.5 hours long, and will include teachings on set Openings and Endgame strategies, as well as chess puzzles aimed at developing a player's intuitive understanding of the game.
I have experience tutoring a variety of subjects with the not-for-profit, Tutor the Nation organisation, which helped me develop a very interactive and hands-on teaching style, with lessons that can be tailored to student's specific needs.
