About Jessica

Hi, my name is Dr. Jessica Pilgrim. I am a Lecturer in the Cal Poly Physics Department. I earned my BS in Physics, with minors in math and astronomy from Cal Poly SLO in 2017. After my undergraduate studies, I attended UCLA for graduate school and earned my MS in Physics in 2020 and PhD in Physics in 2023.

I have over 3 years of experience teaching college physics and over 10 years of tutoring experience working with High School, AP, & College students.

About the lesson

Math and physics don’t come easily to everyone — but any student can learn them with the right guidance, effort, and support. Difficulty with these subjects is not a sign of inability; it usually means the foundations haven’t fully clicked yet.

At Pilgrim Path Tutoring, sessions focus on building understanding from the ground up — emphasizing why concepts work, not just memorizing steps. The goal is to make challenging material feel more approachable and manageable.

As a physics lecturer at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Dr. Pilgrim has spent years helping students navigate challenging material at the college level. That same clarity, patience, and structure carry into every tutoring session, whether a student is preparing for an exam, catching up in class, or building long-term confidence.
