About James
Personally, I have attained Grade 8 Distinctions in Jazz Clarinet, Jazz Saxophone and Classical Clarinet. Throughout my teens I've been lucky enough to play in different groups, whom have played at the likes of Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, and other festivals in Spain, Serbia and France. Only being 21, and a recent Cardiff University graduate, I fully understand what a profound effect that learning and playing instruments has had on my life, and I now wish to help new and more experienced players enjoy playing as much as I have.

I aim to deliver a fun yet firm method of teaching, using different exercises suited to varying levels of experience and standard.
In order to learn and develop musical skills most effectively as a student, I believe that it is crucial that you're able to enjoy yourself during lessons and through independent practice. With this in mind, I always aim to deliver fun and engaging sessions, focused around the needs and wants of my students- such as through suggesting new pieces to learn, exercises to have a go at, or tracks to improvise over.
Lessons can be designed for absolute new beginners just starting out, or for those more experienced players too. Having worked with younger adults before, I've had new DBS certificates in 2019 and 2020.
Typically lessons are 30 minutes, or an hour, and can be arranged to fit around individual demands !
