About Helen
I've wanted to be a teacher since I was 7 and finally qualified in 2009. I loved teaching in the classroom but tutoring allows me to do what I really enjoy. And that is tailoring lessons to suit the individual needs of a particular child to ensure they make the best possible progress. It's so rewarding being able to spark that "I can do it!" moment where a child really starts to believe in themselves.

Welcome to Curious Caterpillar Tutoring!
English and Maths Tutoring for KS1 & KS2 children!
Let me introduce myself…my name is Helen.
After over 10 years of teaching in primary schools, I found that many children who struggled in the classroom simply needed a little more time and a different approach. That’s why I started tutoring. I wanted to create a space where children could feel supported and discover that learning is actually so much fun!
The last thing your child wants after a long day of school is more lessons. So I focus on making all my sessions as engaging and interactive as possible. I work at the pace of each individual child, allowing them the time they need to make good progress.
I offer 50 minute sessions online via Zoom allowing me to work with children all over the UK.
I'm a qualified primary school teacher with QTS status and an up to date DBS check.
