About Clarisse
I taught a wide range of students and in a variety of contexts as I was training and have been primarily teaching adults since I obtained my Masters' degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language. I also hold the examiner-corrector certification for the DELF (A1 to B2) exams.
My experience includes teaching in an immersion primary school and in a boarding high school in the USA, teaching at university and Alliance Française in South Korea, teaching in a private language school in Japan and in Spain. I am now a self-employed instructor offering online lessons so I can offer my services to a wider audience. I hold the DELF examiner and TEF examiner certifications.
Before I became a teacher, I was already passionate about language and got my Bachelor's degree in English Studies (linguistics, literature and civilizations). I am fluent in English and started learning Japanese two years ago.
Outside of work I love to travel, to try new dishes, to meet new people. I also listen to a lot of podcasts ^^

I believe that learning should be fun! I want my students to be looking forward to the next lesson, to be excited to learn more even if it does require effort. When motivation is here, everything feels easier. It is also important to me that my students feel comfortable, and understood. Feeling free to try, to speak and potentially make mistakes!
As I am myself learning a new language - I think having a nice time in class and a trusting relationship with your teacher are the most important things.
I teach using Skype, GoogleMeet or Zoom depending on the preference of the student. For in and out of the classroom I also use GoogleDrive.
I plan my lessons according to the needs and interests of the student; I typically start the session with a free conversation, before we move on to the topic/competence/grammar point to be studied that day.
