About Arthur
I am currently studying Maths and Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh. At GCSE I achieved seven 9s and three 8s, at A-Level I achieved A*A*AB, with a mark of 285/300 in A-Level Maths.
I have found my experience in tutoring maths to be incredibly rewarding, seeing the confidence, understanding and intuition of the students I tutor grow week by week, especially when students had previously believed that maths just wasn’t for them.
On a more personal level, tutoring maths allows me to delve deeper into the subject I love, learning more each session through the need to approach questions differently depending on the learning style of the student. Having to think critically in this way helps greatly in my general maths studies.

I have 5+ years’ experience in volunteering and private maths tutoring at various levels. I have experience tutoring multiple students with additional educational needs.
I offer online maths tutoring at all levels up to and including A-Level or equivalent.
There is never one ‘best’ way to reach the right answer in maths. My methodology focuses on adapting teaching methods to students’ individual style of learning, often using visual representations to build upon previous understanding with improved intuition.
My primary role is to reinforce previous learning. Therefore, I take a student-led approach, encouraging students to attempt questions first, prompting when necessary and delving deeper into the topic when there is room for improved understanding.
I offer sessions of either 30 minutes or 1 hour.
