About Camila

One-to-one Online Portuguese lessons with experienced tutor - business, exam prep, conversation, reading, listening and writing

I can help you improve your Portuguese fast.

I'm a passionate qualified teacher with seventeen years' experience in private tuition and classroom teaching. I am a native Portuguese speaker. I have worked with students from ages 2 to 70, from every continent in the world (except of course Antarctica - unfortunately, I don't teach penguins).

About the lesson

My students have had diverse goals that I have been honoured to help them achieve, including:
-improving conversational Portuguese
-learning business Portuguese
-learning about British culture, including business culture
-improving presentation skills
-improving academic writing
-improving creative writing
-improving emailing
-broadening vocabulary, especially making it accessible when speaking
-improving pronunciation/reducing accent
-improving accuracy by correcting mistakes and providing explanations
-and of course improving grammar, with a focus on actually being able to use it when speaking and writing (and understanding how it works)
-and much more.

Individual attention and feedback is often needed to take language learners from ok communicators to confident, accurate language users. One-to-one lessons also provide the flexibility and tailoring of materials to give you exactly what you need to move forward.

I am positive and easy-going in lessons, offering praise and encouragement, allowing you to relax, be yourself, and feel comfortable making the mistakes that you need to make in order to perfect your skills! I am passionate about language, communication, education, and helping others unlock their potential, and all my teaching is based on the psychology and neuroscience of language learning. I have considerable experience teaching a diverse range of students with the learning goals presented above. In addition, I bring a high degree of individual attention and professionalism to every lesson, meaning that I carefully plan each lesson according to your needs, using the best and most engaging materials available.
