About Lainey
My SAT tutoring journey began after scoring 780 math and 740 English on my 2nd SAT, with an invitation from the College Board to become a volunteer tutor through their partner program. Over the past year, I have developed a passion for helping students build confidence and achieve ambitious SAT score goals, which I know to be important stepping stones in their individual journeys.
I've had the joy of reaching and connecting with nearly 60 different students from 13 different countries around the globe, all starting from different places and working at different speeds. From struggling students in the 1000-1090 band to ambitious students ready to take on top-tier rigor, a broad range of voices have praised my clarity, depth, patience, and friendliness.

In my tutoring, I value personal connection with you, the student. I believe the best learning comes when you are deeply involved in the lesson, which, for me, means me putting in the effort to understand your learning style, adjusting to match your pace and starting point, and involving you in the problem-solving process. I do not wish our sessions to be lectures, but enlightening conversations.
As such, your lessons will be tailored to your individual preferences, weaknesses, and timeline, and no two lesson plans will be the same. We will focus on targeting your weakest skills, building habits, and addressing uncertainty. Additionally, expect rigor and to be pushed beyond boundaries.
