About Siddhartho

My name is Sajal Singh & Tabla is an
integral part of my life. I started learning tabla from childhood (11-12 years old) and still
learning. My first Guru was Shri Haran Nath (disciple- Pt. Sanjay Mukharjee). and I
completed my school (Matriculation) with an elective subject of my interest - Music (Tabla)
and secured 90% in the subject from a government school. After 12th, I was interested in
learning more about music (tabla) as it was my favorite subject. I then decided to pursue my
higher education (Graduation) in Music (Tabla) from S.D.M.C. Gov. Music College, Agartala, Tripura. I have been attracted to Benares Gharana since my childhood, so during
my graduation I started taking Tabla lessons in Benares Gharana under Guru Sri Suman
Ghosh a renowned tabla artist from Tripura (disciple of Pt. Kumar Boss). After completing
my bachelors, I took a gap of four years due to financial problems. In 2022 I attended an
online tabla workshop conduct by Pt. Kumar Bose, School of Kalayoga, CVV. Through this I
learned about the master's program in music at CVV and decided to do it in tabla. At present I
am studying M.A. Music (Tabla) 3rd Sem from Chinmay Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV) under
the Guru- Pt. Abhijit Benarjee (renowned Tabla mestro of Farukhabad Gharana) and Dr. Atul
Kamble (Disciple of Pt. Aditya Kalyanpur). I want to do P.hd after my masters. I am writing to express my strong interest in the Music Teacher & accompanist position at , as advertised. With a profound passion for music and ars of experience in music education, I
am excited about the opportunity to contribute my skills and enthusiasm to your institution.I
am enthusiastic about the prospect of contributing my expertise and dedication to your
institution's music department. I am adept at leveraging technology to augment the learning
experience and am committed to fostering a love for music in every student.

About the lesson

1. **Basic and Advanced Techniques**:
- **Taal and Lay**: Teach students the different rhythmic cycles and how to play them at various speeds (layas).
- **Bol**: Focus on teaching various bols (syllables) and their corresponding strokes on the tabla.
- **Kaida, Gat, and Rela**: Introduce students to traditional compositions and their variations.

- **Fusion**: Show how tabla can be integrated into modern musical styles.
- **Collaboration**: Encourage students to collaborate with musicians from other genres for a cross-genre experience.

- **Leher**: Teach students how to improvise within rhythmic cycles.
- **Tihai**: Practice creating different types of tihai (repeated rhythmic phrases) for cadence.

4. **Performance and Practice**:
- **Solo and Accompaniment**: Teach students how to perform solo tabla pieces and how to accompany other musicians.
- **Recitals and Competitions**: Encourage students to participate in recitals and competitions to showcase their skills.

5. **History and Context**:
- **Cultural Context**: Provide an overview of the history and cultural significance of tabla in classical and contemporary Indian music.
