About Julie
I have been teaching art for over 22 years throughout the United States and currently in Europe, China, and many other countries online. I have taught English online in China for over three years now and have undergone extensive testing and training in this field. I do not have a southern accent, my English is clear and precise. I work with students everyday learning; reading, speech, free talk, grammar, phonics and comprehension with ages 3 through 15. I have also written art curriculum for my online language students in China as well! In addition to my teaching, I am a freelance children's book illustrator and hold a B.F.A with an illustration major and art history minor.

My class is a fun and relaxed environment full of art and props that aid in learning. I use total physical response, physical props, note cards, flash cards, and pictures to add another level of understanding the teaching content. I believe in a nurturing environment where speech output is encouraged! I give physical reward for effort and encourage my students with positive reinforcements. My students come out of my classes happy, with excellent reading and speaking skills. They learn to form their own sentences independently as they progress and speak conversational English.
