About Joshua
I am a Certified High School Teacher who has now been teaching for 3 years. I have taught various math and science courses at the high school level and am able to assess students needs and explain things in an easy/fun way to make learning more engaging.
I like to help students feel that they are highly capable to do math and build their confidence and competence.

I like to first get to know what my students interests/hobbies are and build a rapport with them.
After, I do a diagnostic assessment to see what the student needs most help in and try to build their fundamental math skills.
I aim to make math fun and provide student's real-life examples of where the math they are learning can be useful.
I find that students struggle with math when they don't believe it is useful or don't believe in themselves.
I try to build students confidence and competence by doing many practice examples with them and show them where the math they are learning can be applicable in real-life.
