About Richard

I am an Ontario high school tutor with over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I hold a Master of Education from the University of Toronto and specialize in helping students in Grades 7–12 improve their understanding and confidence in math and science courses.

Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of students — from those who are struggling and need patient step-by-step support, to students aiming for top grades and university preparation. My goal is not only to help students complete homework or prepare for tests, but also to help them truly understand concepts and become more independent learners.

I have taught students in IEP gain admissions to schools like University of Waterloo and University of Western Ontario. I have also helped students in mid 50 average soar to 90 average in math. I have helped students gain real results in math, physics, chemistry, biology, SAT, and IB courses, helping them gain admissions to engineering, commerce, health science, and natural science programs in U of T, U of Waterloo, U of Western Ontario, Queens University, U of Ottawa, Laurier University, UCLA, Imperial College London, etc, etc.

I believe that many students can succeed in math and science when lessons are explained clearly, patiently, and in a structured way. I try to create a calm and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.

I currently provide online one-on-one tutoring sessions for Ontario curriculum subjects including mathematics, advanced functions, calculus, physics, chemistry, biology, and general science.

I specialize in one-on-one Ontario high school tutoring for students in Grades 7–12, with a focus on math, calculus, science, physics, chemistry, and biology. I hold a Master of Education from the University of Toronto and have over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience.

My lessons are structured, patient, and adapted to each student’s learning style and academic needs. I help students strengthen their foundational understanding, improve problem-solving skills, prepare for tests and exams, and build confidence in subjects that often feel overwhelming.

A typical lesson includes reviewing previous concepts, identifying weaknesses or misunderstandings, guided practice with step-by-step explanations, and working through school homework or challenging questions together. I also help students develop effective study habits and test-taking strategies.

I work especially well with students who:

* are struggling to keep up with school material
* want to improve their grades and understanding
* need support preparing for quizzes, tests, and exams
* feel anxious or lack confidence in math and science
* are aiming for university preparation in senior high school courses

Lessons are conducted online in a clear and interactive format using screen sharing and digital whiteboard tools, allowing students to ask questions freely and follow along in real time.
