About Mike

I am a working Professional Dance Artist of 15 years industry experience and have been teaching Yoga since August 2019. I have a love of movement and enjoy exploring different paths to develop strength, flexibility and mobility.

My background as a Dancer, I started quite late at 16 having been afraid to ask my parents for lessons when I was younger due to bullying. Once I decided to undertake the challenge of studying for my A-Level Dance I became instantly hooked. I later graduated from Roehampton University in 2006 and have been performing ever since.

Ive performed for many different companies and artists including the following:

Earthfall (Cardiff based Physical Theatre Company) 2008-2010 Company Dancer, 2010-2015 as a Teacher
FFIN DANCE (Wales Based Repertory Company) 2010-2014
Exim Dance Company (Plymouth Based Inclusive Dance Company) 2012-2018
Ransack Dance Company (Wales based Dance and Physical Theatre Company) 2017-Current
Joon Dance (Wales based Mutli disciplinary dance company) 2017-current

During 2018-2020 I also completed my Post Compulsory Teacher Training at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, obtaining my PGCE with Distinction

Since undertaking my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in July 2019 I have ben teaching multiple classes across Wales in studios and gyms. Throughout Lockdown I have moved my teaching online and now teach several classes a week to a small yet growing online community. I have also completed online training in both Gravity Yoga and Mandala Vinyasa

About the lesson

All of my classes are rooted in exploring what the body can do and to always have a sense of curiosity and playfulness. It doesn't matter if your a beginner or more advanced, we will all move and breathe together.

I provide a class structure that is both challenging and honest whilst providing an open opportunity for my clients to embrace their own path but having the options of choice. If a posture isn't working for you, you can change and adapt, I can offer guidance and support.

Yoga is for everyone and I work to embrace that and welcome all body types, gender and much more. Everyone is welcome in a class with me.

If I have travel outside of the Bridgend Borough (to Swansea or Cardiff as an Example) I kindly request travel expenses (discussed on individual basis)

I have a 24 cancellation Policy, if you can after this time you will still be charged the full rate of pay.
