About Matina
Hello! I am Matina. I am an Elaine Hugh-Jones scholar at the Royal College of Music in London studying at the Masters course.
I hold a bachelor degree with honours from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I got accepted with a scholarship.
In 2022 I was a semi-finalist at the Mozart singing competition in London.
I took part in Master Classes with Dimitris Kavrakos in Greece, with Tamara Novichengo in Milan, with Gabrielle Lechner in Vienna and with Tim Evans Jones in London.
At the age of 18, I performed in the opera gala to honor Dimitris Kavrakos, with the participation of some of the most important Opera singers of Greece and the accompaniment of the ERT National Orchestra with conductor Michalis Economou.
I participated as a chorus member in Verdi's Rekviem, at the Barbican Centre in London. I performed in John Blow's Opera "Venus and Adonis" at Guildhall Milton Court and in the world premiere of Liam Paterson's Opera "The Angel Esmeralda" at the Guildhall.
I took part at the 1rst 2nd and 3rd Opera Gala "Dimitris Kavrakos" alongside Opera singers from the Greek National Opera and with the great pianist Dimitris Giakas.
I participated in Guildhall's opera "Miss fortune" by Judith Wier.
I have attended seminars for pedagogy in London and in Greece. I have also attended seminars for teaching classical, modern, musical, pop and jazz singing. I have experience with teaching singing to beginners and advanced singers. I teach singing to children and adults. I really love to transmit to my students the love and passion I have for music, singing and performing stage!

My aim as a teacher is to always give my students a holistic approach to art.
Apart from my studies in music, I also have studies in Fine Arts university in Greece. I have been studying visual and plastic arts from a very young age. I am also a fitness and dance instructor witch helped me understand the value of movement and how important the way we use our bodies as performers is.
I have experience teaching classical, modern singing and musical, to kids of all ages and young adults and adults.
At my lessons I pay a lot of attention on building the singing technique, because I prepare my students to be independent and confident when they have to perform without my guidance. I’m always trying to transmit to my students my love and passion for singing.
I also teach my students the right way to learn new repertoire. To be able to learn the music, the rhythm, the beat and be one with the accompaniment, but also be able to sing in multiple languages.
I want my students to be able to perform, be imaginative and take risks. That’s why I also teach them how to be good actors to be able to transform into each character and transmit to the audience the story of the songs they want to perform.
