About Malak
Certified from the University of Toronto’s Equivalency board, my Bachelor of Arts in French Literature with eighteen years of diverse professional experience in Canada as a French Teacher in Elementary and Secondary, and a French/Arabic Translator for LinkMentalHealth gives me a strong foundation to be a successful teacher.
As a trilingual speaker, fluent in Arabic, French and English, I have a strong passion for teaching languages. In 2017, I obtained TEFL Certification from University of Toronto,and have completed a Teaching Diploma- Teaching French as a Foreign and Second Language (FLE) from the University of Caen Normandy, France. Throughout my career, I attended numerous educational workshops, and have taken several teacher training courses taught by the Ontario College of Teachers Federation.

As an educator, I have almost two decades of experience teaching French and Arabic both in schools and as a tutor for elementary, middle and high school students. I believe that students learn best when they are engaged and able to express themselves. Moreover, using the Canadian French curriculum, I created differentiated workbooks for the Grade 1 and 2 classes that are student-centred and encourage student engagement. I am committed to creating spaces that are safe, caring, supportive, and transformative for my students. By centralizing the voice and needs of the students, collaborating with the school and community as well as planning multi-modal and differentiated lessons, I work with the students and parents to ensure that I meet these objectives.
