About Sam
I've always been passionate about education and learning, and teaching has become something I genuinely love doing. There's nothing quite like watching a student go from feeling unsure about a topic to tackling it with real confidence. That shift is what keeps me motivated as a tutor.
I'm also deeply passionate about Chemistry itself, particularly its real-world applications. This is something I explored further during my Master's research project in molecular dynamics, where I got to see first-hand how the subject connects to genuinely fascinating, cutting-edge science. I enjoy bringing that same enthusiasm into my lessons, helping students see not just how to answer exam questions, but why the subject is worth caring about in the first place.

Explain your approach to tutoring and how you teach your I adjust my style and pace to suit each student, whether that means rebuilding foundations or stretching stronger students with harder problems, and I track progress through regular reports to keep lessons focused and effective. I particularly enjoy pushing academically strong students further, helping them reach top grades.
I have a first-class degree in Chemistry from Oxford and achieved A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry at A-Level. I've tutored part-time throughout my degree and taught English full-time at a primary school in Thailand, giving me experience across a wide range of ages and abilities.
Lessons typically run for one hour, and I tutor GCSE and A-Level students in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.
