About Charles
Hi, I am Charles, an Engineering Graduate who graduated with a Masters from Oxford in 2020.
I am passionate about helping students achieve their full potential. My aim is to ensure that all of my students become capable independent problem solvers.
I have provided hundreds of hours of tutoring for students from as young as 8 to up to 18 years old, from fractions to Oxford admissions!
My style of teaching is designed to not simply provide the answers or techniques, but instead to show the student how to figure out the techniques themselves. This higher understanding puts my students in a great position when content gets harder since they truly understand the fundamentals of the subjects.
I tailor all my lessons to my students personalities to ensure maximum engagement in the content, everyone learns differently, and as such I am a strong believer that everyone should be taught differently too!
Having obtained a scholarship at Eton College, I have significant experience in the independent school system in the UK and I am practiced at providing interview and pretest preparation.
I am also experienced in providing practice Oxford Engineering interviews (my previous 2 interview practice students both received offers).

My lessons are from 1 to 2 hours long, dependant on the students needs. I have hundreds of hours of tutoring experience and have helped my students earn places at top UK boarding schools and offers from Oxford University.
I teach students from the ages of 8 to 18, and I specialise in accelerating the learning of bright students to help them achieve their full potential.
The majority of students I teach are from 11+ to GCSE, as well as helping with interview prep and competition maths (e.g. UKMT challenges).
I have helped many students get their confidence back and go on to be top of their class.
I am a strong believer in making sure my students understand the fundamentals of what they are doing instead of memorising the techniques, and this allows us to often scale the difficulty beyond the syllabus to reach a real understanding of the subject content.
