About Dominik

Growing up in a very traditional school system, I had to figure out how to learn new tech, build my own portfolio, and find creative solutions entirely on my own. Navigating that standard environment by myself is the exact reason I am so passionate about mentoring today.

I am deeply committed to helping my students think critically and creatively. My goal is to help you do more than just pass your exams or finish a complex STEM project. I want to guide you through your entire academic journey with confidence. I am a PhD candidate in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford (visiting MPC Lab at University of California, Berkeley currently), and my goal is to share my personal experiences to equip you with the problem-solving mindset you need to truly stand out.

My Techniques and Teaching Methodology
I guide students to independently discover unique ideas and perspectives. By providing thorough feedback containing diverse viewpoints, I ensure sessions remain highly productive yet soothing. This approach prevents academic burnout and guarantees success even for students experiencing extreme stress or Asperger syndrome. We actively connect academic passions to real-world applications, like linking Machine Learning to autonomous driving research.

Typical Length of a Lesson
Standard sessions run for 1 to 1.5 hours. I offer extensive flexibility by frequently working multi-hour blocks or late evenings right before critical deadlines.

My Qualifications and Experience
I am an Engineering Science PhD candidate at the University of Oxford. I achieved a 4.0 GPA at UT Austin and First Class Honours in Aerospace Engineering. Over 6 years, I have mentored over 100 students, successfully securing admissions to elite programmes including Brown University, NYU, Minerva University, and Imperial College. I am recognised for effectively handling the most ambitious and complex student cases.

Who I Teach and Subjects Covered
While the majority of my students are in high school, I also work with college-level undergraduates and primary school students.

- University Admissions: Comprehensive mentoring for the Common App, Coalition App, and Minerva University App. I provide expert guidance on personal essays, supplemental essays, and recommendation letters. I prepare students for interviews at institutions like Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial.

- STEM Entrance Exams: Intensive preparation for the SAT Math, including time management strategies. I teach thinking skills, mathematics, and physics for the ENGAA, PAT, and BMAT assessments.

- High School Final Exams: Focused tutoring in mathematics and physics for IB, AP, A-levels, and the Polish Matura Exam. I assist with structuring and writing extended and internal essays.

- Advanced STEM Projects: Mentoring high school students through complex engineering and computer science extracurriculars. Topics include computational fluid dynamics for RC planes, programming Arduino for robotics, systems engineering for European Space Agency CanSats, and deploying Machine Learning for autonomous FPV drones.
