About Hebe
I am a sporty, friendly, 25-year-old Oxford graduate (2016). I love to run, to go to the cinema, and to travel. At university I studied French & Russian literature and language, along with some linguistics. I also played lacrosse and ran the international relations society. I am currently completing the first year of a Master's in International Relations at Sciences Po in Paris, and will complete my second year at LSE (2020-21). I like to tutor languages primarily through conversation, about topics that interest the student and myself, and by reading texts in the original. My grasp of grammar is strong so I am able to catch potential errors during these exercises, and correct them with grammar exercises if need be. I also mentored many younger students while I was at school and university, so I have good experience working on interview preparation and exam revision. My preferred approach to Maths tutoring involves some work to do between tutor sessions which we can then go through together. Hebe taught the Minimus Latin syllabus to children, creating a fun and engaging learning environment. Her group also worked towards putting on a production of Sleeping Beauty in Latin, which the children enjoyed greatly and which enabled the Latin to be brought to life. Hebe is professional in all her teaching interactions and connects well with her students, going beyond the syllabus to bring about genuine enthusiasm for the subject.
Hebe was a fantastic tutor for me in improving my basic French language skills over the summer of 2019. She has an interactive and practical approach, allowing the sessions to both broaden my vocabulary and improve my confidence in speaking.
