About Johann
I am an experienced Geography and Psychology teacher with over 10 years’ experience in education, currently teaching at a leading UK boarding school. I am an Oxford Master’s graduate and have taught GCSE and A-level students across a range of UK examination boards.
Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy, particularly helping students realise that they are capable of achieving more than they initially thought. Throughout my career, I have helped students make significant academic progress, improve their marks and develop greater confidence in their abilities.
Having taught students with a wide range of abilities and learning needs, I understand that there is no single approach that works for everyone. I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging environment in which students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and challenging themselves.
I bring enthusiasm, high expectations and over a decade of classroom experience to every lesson, with the ultimate aim of helping each student achieve the best results they are capable of.

My lessons are engaging, structured and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I focus not only on developing strong subject knowledge, but also on the examination technique needed to turn that knowledge into marks.
For Geography and Psychology, we will break down difficult concepts, identify gaps in understanding and practise applying knowledge to real exam-style questions. I teach students how to interpret command words, structure extended answers and understand exactly what examiners are looking for.
Every student has different goals, so lessons are adapted accordingly — whether you are struggling with the basics, looking to improve by several marks, or aiming for the highest marks at GCSE or A-level.
Above all, I want students to become more confident and independent. My lessons are supportive and approachable, while maintaining the high academic expectations needed to achieve excellent results.
