About Danny
I’m an Oxford graduate in Psychology and Philosophy, and for the past four years I’ve been working as a private tutor, helping students secure excellent grades, as well as places at top UK universities. I work with a wide range of ages and abilities, and have tutored GCSE English and Science as well as A-Level Psychology/Sociology/Philosophy/Politics. I'm heavily experienced in Oxbridge admissions prep - including support for admissions tests, personal statements, and interviews. Around 70% of my students have received Oxbridge interview offers, with quite a few securing offers as well.

Owing to my background, I prefer to teach A-level students in the style of an Oxford Tutorial. These are in pairs of two one-hour sessions: In Session 1 we will revise a topic in detail to consolidate understanding, and in Session 2 you'll hand in pre-set assignments and come prepared to discuss your work in detail. Through my approach, students feel empowered to become active participants in their own evaluation and master their critical and analytic thought along the way. My GCSE students are taught a little differently, these are one-hour sessions that place more emphasis on truly understanding exam material and overcoming struggle areas. As a result, my main focus is on helping strong, capable students push past “good” and reach genuinely excellent. I particularly enjoy working on essay writing, argumentation and critical thinking: tightening up structure, sharpening ideas, and helping students learn how to write in a way that is both rigorous and compelling.
