About Michael
I have twenty years' experience as a private tutor. I have helped several hundred students to increase their understanding and improve their grades. Many of my students come through personal recommendations from previous students or their parents. I have sometimes taught members of the same family for up to ten years. I previously worked as a university lecturer teaching engineering students and my lectures were always highly rated by the students.

I believe the great advantage of one-to-one tuition is that I can adapt each lesson to meet the needs of the student. I always start lessons by asking if there is anything particular they would like to do or anything they need help with. Almost always I am able to answer any questions they have without preparation. Students often comment on how I am able to break questions down in a way they can easily understand. I have taught a complete range of students over the years from those struggling to obtain a pass at GCSE to ones aiming for A or A* grade at A level. A number of my students have gained places at Oxford or Cambridge. I always try to make the lessons enjoyable and students frequently remark how quickly the lesson has gone.
