About Felix
I grew up in Derby and went to a state school with little support for Oxbridge applications, so I know what's possible for students without that background, given the right help. I studied Mathematics at King's College London (First Class), then Trinity College, Oxford for a fully-funded MSc in Mathematics.
All of my students have gone on to achieve an A or A*, and one recently secured an offer from the University of Oxford. I've tutored privately for seven years, and it's the part of my week I look forward to most! I'm patient and honest in lessons so if something isn't working, I'll say so and change approach rather than push on.
I also hold an enhanced DBS check and Level 1 Safeguarding training.

A typical lesson might follow this structure:
- A quick recap of last lesson and how homework went
- The main bulk of the lesson: working conceptually through a topic and showing how it links back to things they've already learned, since maths tends to click once you see how separate-looking topics actually connect, then working through some simple examples
- A worksheet set for afterward, sent back to me ahead of the next lesson so I can mark it and give feedback. This gives me a clear sense of exactly what to focus on next
- Extra resources for further reading, for students who want to go beyond the syllabus
Lessons run one hour as standard, with 90-minute sessions available for students who prefer the extra depth. I teach GCSE and A-Level Maths and Further Maths (AQA and Edexcel), plus specialist Oxbridge admissions preparation including the TMUA.
