About Chengqing
Hello! My name is Chengqing.
I will be studying at the University of Oxford for mathematics this autumn.
I completed the IB Diploma Programme at an international school, and during my university application process, I scored 88/100 (average 74 amongst successful applicants) in the Oxford MAT and 9.0/9.0 in the TMUA for Imperial College.
I also have some experience in mathematics competitions, having received a Gold Award and Best in School in the Senior Maths Challenge, a Distinction in BMO1, and a Merit in BMO2.
I used to struggle with mathematics, but now mathematics is my passion, and this transformation would not have been possible without the wonderful maths teachers I met. I truly understand that mathematics can sometimes be challenging, and inspired by them, I hope that I can also be someone who helps guide others through mathematics. I hope that we can improve your performance in maths and, most importantly, have fun!

Teaching style:
I would like to adopt a conversation-based class. I encourage students to articulate their thinking process and their ideas about the theorems and questions. Even though students may make mistakes while they are attempting to solve problems, it is the trying part that eventually leads to the results.
Typical Length of a lesson: 1 hour
Experience:
Over the past two years, I have worked as a teaching assistant in my high school mathematics classes. I have also coached high school competition teams in mathematics for the United States Academic Decathlon (USAD).
