About Boris
Currently pursuing a mathematics PhD at Oxford University, specialising in stochastic control and machine learning - aka, how do we make optimal choices in random environments given sample data? I also do some side projects in air traffic control and trading problems for finance...
I've got lots of experience teaching at many levels and find it very rewarding to build intuition across mathematical disciplines. One-on-one sessions are a great way to do this, so I look forward to teaching!

I take a foundational approach where understanding is emphasised before attempting exercises. Exercises are then carefully supervised and used as talking points for consolidating this understanding, rather than simply cramming problems and memorising solutions.
I also ensure continuity across lessons by recapping sticking points from prior sessions to ensure long-term understanding.
