My teaching style focusses not only on content, but also on developing the crucial analytical and problem-solving skills - often neglected by schools - that are necessary for success both in exams and the wider world. Having achieved top grades in the A-level and GCSE subjects I teach, I am familiar with the exam board requirements and peculiarities that must be understood to get a high score.
A deep understanding of a subject arises only from active participation of the student, so I teach through questions, leading the student towards the answer whilst allowing them to think concepts through and ask their own questions in return. In this way, students can increase their knowledge, confidence and ability in their subjects.
I teach GCSE and A-level physics and maths, and tutor for the PAT (Oxford Physics entrance test). I can also advise on EPQ, UCAS applications/personal statements, Oxbridge Interviews, BPhO papers, PAT and NSAA.
FAQs:
When? I am fairly flexible to fit your schedule, and can teach on weekdays and weekends; in the day time and in the evening.
How? I can teach in person, or alternatively online using Zoom and (optionally) a Miro whiteboard so that we can all write mathematical notation. I use Google Drive to transfer files.
