About Yasmine
I'm an avid poetry reader, an amateur astronomer, and an outdoors three-sport athlete - including cycling, cross-country skiing, and running. I was born and raised in Casablanca, Morocco, speak four languages, and have lived in three different countries! I teach physics, maths, and general chemistry. My favourite topics to teach are classical mechanics (physics) and calculus (maths)! In the United States, I have taught IB students, as well as AP students. I have experience preparing students for standardised testing, such as the SAT and TOEFL-iBT.

I am an experienced tutor attending the University of Oxford. I read Physics and Philosophy as I aspire to build a career in astrophysics. Science education is my passion, and I share my love for STEM with my students in fun and creative ways. Sal Khan is my daily inspiration - I think anyone can learn anything! I am best suited for students who want to obtain a better knowledge of scientific concepts - either because they are struggling in class or because they want to challenge themselves. I want to share my love for science with my students and teach them to approach problems with confidence and efficiency. My specialities are physics and mathematics, and I also have expertise teaching for standardised tests such as the TOEFL, SAT, and AP examinations. Finally, I am a native French speaker, and I teach the French Language with great joyfulness and enthusiasm. I have tutored STEM for three years now. My passion for tutoring started at Phillips Academy Andover, Massachusetts, USA where I was a lead peer-tutor at our Academic Skills Center. I followed by becoming an employee of XII School, a Moroccan school specialised in academic support and personalised coaching. Online, I tailor tutoring sessions to each of my students' abilities and needs. I prepare my tutoring sessions ahead of time. Before each session, I outline an objective plan which I share with my student beforehand to ensure we can make the most of our time together. I am readily available over email and text between tutoring sessions to answer questions or clarify concepts from the material being covered. I love making videos for my students on my whiteboard to clarify concepts when needed. My favourite part of tutoring is getting to know my students and learn about their objectives and aspirations so I can best help them. I believe in each of my students and care about them deeply.
