About Neko

I've not always been a good student, and there were times I really struggled with learning in an education system that wasn't suitable for me. I understand the struggle of learning and want to help those who are in a similar position to what I experienced, especially because schoolwork is really the foundation of all our knowledge and it is very difficult to catch up again once one drops behind. Education is key to a brighter future with better thinkers in the next generation and everyone deserves to be well-educated. I help those who are not getting the most out of schools and understand that schools are definitely limited due to the high student to teacher ratio.

About the lesson

Effective learning is best done through lots of practice. Studies have shown that students retain much less of the taught information when they are passively taking in information, compared to when they are engaged in an active act of learning. Therefore, in my lessons I always have exercises for the student to practice essential skills, sometimes during lesson time so I can verify that they really understand how to solve the questions correctly. Typical lessons can vary from one to two hours in length, with a break in between for longer lessons. This can be adjusted based on each student's needs. I do both lessons that help a student catch up in terms of schoolwork, and lessons that help students go beyond what their school is offering, such as Olympiad style Math.

I have had 5 years of experience as a tutor both online and in-person, for a variety of subjects and levels ranging from primary to sixth form.

Details

Prices are negotiable based on the subject level being taught. I am charging my current students 30 quid an hour and the 25 quid an hour is a discounted rate because I am new to this platform. Travel fee is also negotiable depending on how far away you live. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like to know more.
