I like to approach any problem from first principles and make sure students understand where the solutions to problems come from instead of simply stating the answers. Within Maths and Economics I believe it is vital a good grip of fundamentals is taught so students can appreciate where the content they learn is derived from in order to assist their ability to remember solutions.
