About Amanda
I am a masters student at the University of Oxford, currently studying Mathematical and Theoretical Physics. I have a passion for my subject and come from a deprived area, so I want to encourage others to also defeat the odds and realise that any achievement is possible if enough work is put in. Seeing others love physics and maths as much as I do brings me much joy, and I want to do anything in my power to help others pursue their passions and take them as far as they can.

I try to talk through the content with the pupil, so that they have a basic understanding, and I will rephrase it if there's something they're struggling to understand. I've found that if the source of the confusion is found, the student later feels much more confident with the knowledge, so I always try to explain what they find confusing to a slightly deeper level, so that they understand why it happens and not just what happens.
I then approach the content from a different angle by giving the student questions to talk me through and explain to me, and when they get slightly off track I get them to talk me through the thought process so that they understand where they went wrong.
By going through past papers or questions, their understanding is then further solidified.

Perfect! Amanda is an exceptional physics tutor! Her depth of knowledge in both the subject and the syllabus is truly phenomenal. Not only does she have a remarkable understanding of the material, but she also knows exactly how to present it in a way that makes complex concepts seem manageable.
What really stands out is her friendly and professional demeanour. She creates a comfortable and encouraging learning environment, which has greatly boosted my confidence in tackling even the toughest topics. Amanda is always approachable and patient, and her ability to inspire confidence has made a significant difference in my understanding of physics.
I highly recommend Amanda to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, professional, and motivating physics tutor!Perfect! Wow! What can I say... My son has long needed a teacher like you. He cant wait for his next lesson and wont stop talking about all the new things he's learned. Absolutely amazing tutor! Highly recommended. Thanks so much Amanda
- Luke is a star pupil and such an absolute pleasure to teach. His physical intuition is phenomenal and I have never met anyone so young with that good an ability to see what is going on. He leaves me feeling humbled and refreshed after every lesson and I am in complete and utter awe of him. I genuinely believe that he is going to go on to do incredible things when he's older, and I really hope he chooses a career in physics, which he very clearly has a gift for.Amanda's response :

Amanda is really patient and has been of great help in my first year of college. Lockdown made it hard for me to catch up with stuff which I missed when I was isolating with covid, and Amanda helped me get back on track, and prepared me for assessments which were coming up for me. I definitely found maths easier after clearing up the things I missed with her.
