About Aina

I wholeheartedly believe that anyone can achieve good grades—there is no such thing as pre-determined grades or not being 'good' at a subject. For reference, I attended a poorly funded state school, where we sometimes didn't have teachers for certain subjects, yet I still came out with 10 grade 9s (10 A**s), A*A*A at A-level, as well as a place at the University of Oxford. From this, I learnt that getting good grades has more to do with the effort you put in than the myth of natural intelligence or luck. I want to tutor to pass on the techniques I used to bring all my grades up to a high standard, achieving near full marks in many of my exams. My goal is to help students understand the material thoroughly and develop effective study habits that will serve them well in the future. Let me guide your child to excel in their GCSEs with proven strategies and personalised support.

About the lesson

Due to the recency of sitting my GCSE and A-level exams, I understand exactly what it takes to excel, having been in your child's position just now! I am familiar with the latest specifications and requirements. I achieved 91% in GCSE maths and 95% in A-level maths. I believe not just in 'getting good grades', but in guiding your child to achieving full marks or close. I do not believe in lazy memorisation or rote learning, but in gaining a comprehensive understanding of Maths and English that will be useful in the future. My lessons will involve honing in on understanding and the logic behind the maths, before practising to improve exam technique. I have tutored younger years for a while now, so I am ready to help your child tackle their GCSEs or A-levels. I am willing to tutor for up to 2-3 hours depending on your needs, or break up the hours within the week, whatever works best for you.
