About Ella
I am currently on a gap year, with a confirmed placed at Brasenose College, Oxford to study an MSci in Chemistry. At A Level, I achieved all A*s, with overall exam percentages of 99% in Chemistry, 97% in Maths, 89% in Further Maths and 83% in Biology. I also achieved 60/60 in my Extended Project Qualification (a scientific essay that evaluated the efficacy and suitability of arising, disease-modifying treatments for Parkinson’s disease, which is a disease that my grandpa has), as well as 10 grade 9s at GCSE. As a diligent tutor, I will be hard-working to ensure that I provide you with the most clear explanations and effective resources using my plethora of A level notes!
I have enjoyed sharing both my topic understanding and knowledge of how to sharpen exam technique since giving my friends rapid topic-overviews before our A Level exams (!!). My recent endeavour - tutoring my brother GCSE maths - has also strengthened my skills and passion for teaching.
Elementally - awful, awful pun I know eek - I just love Maths and Chemistry. So, I know that I will always look forward to and enjoy tutoring you to the best of my ability!
Also… little bit about me away from academia… I love running with my cockapoo called Olive and playing the piano. I also enjoy baking; I like to use the excuse that weighing out ingredients is similar to measuring the chemicals in a laboratory so it’s “good practise for my degree” to test out new recipes!

I will ensure that you develop a well-rounded understanding of the topics that we are focussing on, individually tailoring the lessons to best suit your unique learning style. I will also utilise resources that I have both made and found beneficial, in order to hone your exam technique and master the skill of ‘playing the mark-schemes’! We can target areas that you have requested and/or I can propose topics that typically arise in your exam board’s papers and/or are particularly challenging. This means that we will maximise your marks and ensure that you will achieve the best results in your exams!
