About Rosie
Hi! My name is Rosie, I am an undergraduate Maths student at the University of Oxford offering one-to-one A-Level and Oxford admissions tutoring. I achieved 10 grade 9s at GCSE and 4 A*s at A-Level in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
Despite achieving the top grades and securing a place at one of the world's most selective and elite universities, I spent my two years at sixth form feeling unsupported, underprepared, and unsure of what my future had in store. When my sixth form faced difficulties with staff retention, I was left to figure things out on my own, a position I believe no student with high aspirations should be left in.
This is what has inspired me to offer tutoring support to A-Level students; I would like to pass on the expertise I built over the years and give tutees the opportunity to study the A-Level course with someone who was in their position not too long ago. My hope is that tutees who once believed they couldn't, go out there and achieve more than they ever thought they were capable of.

When sitting my own A-levels, I realised that high grades come from effective and intentional revision, not from hours of passive reviewing of content, a trap too many students fall into. Studies have shown that the most effective method of learning is through spaced repetition and application of knowledge to new scenarios. My one-hour tutoring sessions for Y12/13 students will focus on this, ensuring that students head into their exams with confidence, ensuring they not only know the content, but can apply their knowledge to whatever the examiners throw at them.
Having sat my A-Levels in 2024, the first year group to sit exams without any adjustments due to the pandemic, I understand first-hand the experience of sitting exams under the current syllabus in the post-COVID era. I know what it takes to help students succeed, and truly believe my tutoring could be the stepping stone to the next grade up, helping students meet university offers, secure apprenticeships, and enable their futures.
