About Emi
A little about me: My name is Emi, I'm 24 years old, and I've worked at the library for almost a year. When I was a kid, all I wanted to do was read in the corner all day (I often did), and one of my favorite things about my job is that I get to see how many kids are just like I was! I'm flexible, patient, and a little bit goofy at times, but I'm also super dedicated to figuring things out. I always welcome questions and feedback, because learning is a two-way street.
In my grade school years, English and creative writing were my best subjects. Somehow, all these years later I still remember all the tricks and memorization devices about spelling and grammar, so I'd love to give them to someone else now!
In my free time, I like to draw and write poems. I hope to illustrate a storybook or graphic novel someday.

Do you ever feel like you're falling behind when it comes to reading? Do you worry about having to read aloud in front of people? Are there stories you'd like to write, but you're having trouble getting the words down on paper? I can help you out, and hopefully we can both learn along the way!
My name is Emi and I'm a children's library assistant (so yes, I basically live under a stack of books). I've always loved to read, but when I was younger I struggled with branching out into longer, more challenging material. Personally, I think that anything that makes you enjoy a story is worth reading, no matter how short or long! If the sight of big, heavy books or ridiculously long words stresses you out, you're not along-- and I'm here to help you take it one step at a time!
